Blog + Facebook + Twitter = Great web presence and great business

BrainjarMedia_logoSounds simple, right? To hear Guy Edwards tell it, it can be. Just an hour, OK, maybe two or three, a week makes a big difference to your online marketing.

Guy enthralled the about 20 East Portland business owners at the DMA’s mixer in April with ways to draw a lot of traffic to your website. Guy, a consultant at the MHCC-based Small Business Development Center, also told the group how Google thinks.

For example,  make your business’s address known, twice on your web page, and create backlinks to your own social media.

See what you missed by not joining us at the Daily Planet? The coffee kept flowing and the bacon and eggs were free at the East Portland establishment, 11312 SE Powell Blvd.

To learn more about SBDC, services check out its website, www.mhcc.edu/sbdc. The office is at 501 NE Hood Ave #240, Gresham. You can reach Guy through his business, Brainjar Media. His email is guyedwards@brainjarmedia.com; the phone number is 503-929-7436.

May’s Business Happy Hour: City Commissioner Nick Fish will talk about “The State of Small Business in East Portland” on May 11. Meet your business neighbors from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Duke’s Country Bar & Grill, Southeast Division and 146th. The snacks and first drink will be free. AE asks: isn’t it Venture Portland that picks up the tab for this, not MHCC?????

The MHCC-sponsored business mixers happen every second Tuesday of the month and are hosted by the Division Midway Alliance and Midway Business Association.
