Community eyes Division & 150th Park design
About 100 East Portlanders attended Portland Park’s 150th & Division Design Options meeting April 8 were treated to two park design options, interactive stations and activities, tasty food and lively conversations. While children enjoyed activities, parents engaged in lively discussions with Parks' staff and neighbors about the options. If you missed the meeting you have until April 23 to complete an online survey. The 5 minute survey allows you to rate each design element and comment on your choices for each. Celebrate Earth Day on Powell Butte: The first 25 people to show up at the Midway Business Association's Business to Buttes event April 22 will get a free gift package to help seed their garden. The activities begin at 10 a.m. at the Powell Butte Visitors Center, 16160 SE Powell Blvd., and will include birdwatching, nature and dog walks. To keep DMA's doors open to all the members of the community, we need volunteers. We need YOU!
Joining the DMA team is an opportunity that will tap into your talents, dreams and goals, and that will give you an opportunity to grow. But better yet, you will be part of the larger and diverse community that makes our district so special.
Some of the ways you can help NOW are by:
- Pitching in at the Festival of Nations in September. This will be our third festival to showcase the best of East Portland and to spur envy in the rest of Portland.
- Joining a committee. We have a spot for you in marketing, capital improvements and …
- Writing or taking photos for our newsletters and soon-to-be-released new website.
Other opportunities pop up year-round, from helping at our annual cleanups to helping us keep our working space in order.
