CENSUS 101 Information Session 

DMA staff, cultural liaisons, and youth volunteers received information about the Census outreach and enrollment process from Blanca Gaytan Farfan from East County Rising.
 

Delegation From Hanshin University

A delegation from the School of Social Innovation and Business, Hanshin University visited Portland to learn local economic development efforts and to better understand efforts around the topic of innovative social enterprise. Lisha Shrestha, ED highlighted Division Midway Alliance's community-led development work in partnership with local government and community partners such as Prosper Portland, East Portland Community Office and East Portland Action Plan.

Bureau of Development Services (BDS) Listening Session

Division Midway Alliance in collaboration with BDS organized a listening session on January 6th. 20 Burmese and Karen community members learned about the permitting process and other programs at BDS that are useful for small business owners


Youth Leadership Environmental Program Training with SOLVE

As part of the Youth Environment Leadership Program (YELP), the YELP group received training from SOLVE on how to set up Clean up Event. They learned how to register on the SOLVE website and the resources available to them. The SOLVE program coordinator walked them through event safety and procedures required for clean up day.  By doing so, they walked around the area and practiced what they learned during the training. DMA- YELP group will organize a clean-up day in April 2020.

The Division Midway Alliance Youth Environmental Leadership Program would like to invite you to the first Division Midway District Clean Up event!

Division Transit Project

Division Transit Project Construction has begun on Division Street. At this time, Raimore Construction has crews working at 148th & 142nd Avenues in our area with plans to move West to the next stop locations within 6 months.







Division Transit Project Construction Kickoff-Groundbreaking Event was held on January 23rd, 2020. The project will improve travel on Division Street with an easier, faster and more reliable bus service. New stations will accommodate 60-foot articulated buses with multiple-door boarding for quick stops.

Trimet LIF Program

We are excited to be a partner site for TriMet Low Income Fare Program. Visit our office to know more about the program. We can help you to identify your eligibility and assist you enroll in the program. We can serve in 7 different languages- Karen, Burmese, Spanish, Swahili, Nepali, Tongan, English. If you know anyone that can benefit from this program, please refer them to us. We are located in 11721 SE Division St

Language support is available:

English/Swahili: Monday-Friday 9 am - 12 pm and 1 pm - 5 pm
Spanish/French Tuesday and Thursday 10 am - 12 pm

Karen/Burmese: Wednesday and Thursday  9 am - 5 pm
Tongan: Wednesday and Friday 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Livelihood NW

The Business Outreach Program has a new name, Livelihood NW! Livelihood NW still offers drop-in office hours at DMA 9 am to noon every Wednesday. For more information visit their website at livelihoodnw.org or email a business advisor.

Are you looking for a job? Do you know someone who needs assistance in finding a job? Our Community liaisons here at DMA can help! Community liaisons provide information to our SE workforce navigator, Nathaly Pretell, and she gets in contact with the community member and the community liaisons. She has office hours at DMA 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 1:30  PM - 3:00 PM.
