Position Title: Census Field Representative
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Duration: Temporary Position, runs from March 2020- August 31st, 2020
Hours: 10-12 hours a week
Wage: $ 17 per hour
About DMA
Division Midway Alliance (DMA) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing the commercial corridor and improving livability for businesses and residents along SE Division Street between I-205 and the Portland city limits. The mission of Division Midway Alliance is to actively work to create a more prosperous area, improve our public image, foster public safety, and improve the lives and vitality of businesses and residents of the district through a collaborative effort. DMA recognizes the diversity of district businesses and residents and partners with business and community organizations to provide wrap-around services designed to allow the community to rise in place including: one-on-one and classroom business technical assistance, citizenship classes, ESL classes, workforce development, community resource guidance, referrals and assistance.
Job Description
Division Midway Alliance is seeking motivated and community-driven Field Representative to assist in enrolling “hard to count” communities: people of color, immigrants, rural communities, children under 5 and renters. Division Midway Alliance (DMA) is one of the Census Assistance Center (CAC) and we are working to ensure that the Census is equitable, fair, and just and that every Oregonian is counted in the 2020 US Census.
Field representative will carry out a grassroots effort to Get-Out-The-Count. This is a part-time, temporary position that involves engaging with our communities in East County and highlighting the importance of Census participation.
Job Duties include:

Door knocking

Online Enrollment
-
Data entry, reporting, and tracking progress on fieldwork

Attending daily briefs with the campaign team

Turning in time-sheets and other administrative materials according to deadlines
Field team staff must be available to work up to 10-12 hours a week. Weekly schedule can be determined at the time of hire.

Ability to work 4-8 hours per day, on scheduled workdays

Preferences:

Bilingual skills (Russian, Vietnamese, Somali, Chinese, Iraqi, Burmese, Nepali)

Familiarity with East Multnomah County geography and communities
