Jade-Midway Placemaking events take center stage

A new round of  Jade-Midway Placemaking Project events launches Saturday, May 21, with “What is Place? Stories of Housing and Transit Justice.” Renters and transit riders are invited to share their stories with Living Stages and other groups from noon to 2 p.m. at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Division Street.

On Sunday, May 22, 1-3 p.m., the Jade/APANO Multicultural Space, 8114 SE Division, hosts  “See Me, Hear Me: Taiko Workshop.”  Read More

East Portland NPIs Host Jobs Fair

The East Portland Neighborhood Prosperity Initiatives (NPIs) hosted a jobs fair May 11 for East Portland residents.  Historic Parkrose, Division Midway Alliance (DMA) and the Rosewood Initiate, the three NPIs east of I-205, brought together 26 Portland employers to connect them to local job seekers.  The employers included the Portland Police Bureau, Metro, FedEx, Human Solutions and Duck Delivery Produce. Anthony Moreschi Volunteer Spotlight for May

Three years ago, DMA was blessed when Anthony Moreschi agreed to oversee its biggest and busiest committee, the capital improvement committee.  Since that time, Anthony has guided the capital improvement committee through many projects including:  production and installation of Midway banners throughout the district, storefront improvement grants for three district businesses and a visioning process that has resulted in a list of prioritized projects for the district.  Trash cans and a mural are two of the projects slated for this summer.
