Youth Environmental Program
DMA has partnered with the City of Portland in creating the new Youth Environmental leadership program starting this Fall! We are currently accepting application for Youth Mentors. We are looking for Youth Mentors who are part of the Latino/Hispanic, Somali, Tongan, Asian-Pacific Islander, Bhutanese, and Burmese communities. Youth Mentors will be strengthening both their knowledge in Environmental conservation and leadership skills. Select youth will receive a stipend for upon successful participation and completion of the program. Applications are Due Wednesday September 18th.

Meet DMA Operations and Communications Coordinator - Joy Sadi
Joy Sadi graduated from Warner Pacific University in 2019, where she majored in Accounting and Business Administration. She plans to continue her education and get her Master’s in Business Administration as well as her CPA. Joy has volunteered throughout various nonprofits like the Giving Closet and throughout the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. She previously worked with elderly people at Courtyard Mt. Tabor retirement home. In her free time, Joy has various activities she participates in like singing, dancing, making videos, learning new languages, and new musical instruments. Joy loves to travel and plans to visit all 50 states. So far, South Korea is one of her favorite places! She is fluent in Swahili and Kibembe.
Meet DMA Program Coordinator - Elizabeth Lopez-Hernandez
Elizabeth Lopez graduated from Portland State University with a double major in International Studies and Political Science with a French Minor. During her time at PSU, she was able to study abroad in Southern France, where she developed a passion for travelling, trying new foods, and strengthen her interest to learn about different cultures, people and languages. At PSU, she worked as Resident Academic Mentor, where she worked closely with her residential community and Campus resources to better serve her community. She has worked as a facilitator for various nonprofits in the Portland area focusing on youth empowerment and leadership such as Girls Inc. of Pacific NorthWest. She is passionate about women empowerment and making sure that the immigrant and refugee communities have the necessary resources to succeed. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her cousins and her dog and photographing. She’s fluent in Spanish and French.
Division Midway Alliance Storefront Grant
We are excited to share that businesses Pizzayaki, Cayes Pets, and Anthony Kondos State Farm Insurance have successfully completed their storefront grant improvements project. With the help of Division Midway Alliance Storefront Improvement Grants, the businesses completed the following projects--

DMA Community Outreach
Division Midway Alliance partnered up with Tonga American Resource Network for the 3rd Annual Tonga Day which took place on August 17, 2019. Tonga Day was a beautiful event that brought the community together to celebrate cultural diversity of heritage.
