Big changes afoot along Division
Community, businesses invited to voice opinions to city

The city of Portland plans two community events in our district next month that give you -- neighbors and businesses -- a chance to learn about and weigh in on Division safety projects and financing for Mill and Midland park changes.
  • The Mill & Midland parks: Wed., Nov. 8, 6-8:30 p.m., a Portland City Council hearing concerning financing for Mill and Midland park improvements. The meeting is at David Douglas HS, 1001 135th Ave.
  • Division Street changes: Thu., Nov. 9, 5-7 p.m., at PCC's Southeast Campus, Community Room Annex, 8305 SE 82nd Ave. PBOT will show maps and plans and listen to community members and businesses.
Please show up at these meetings, if you can. These changes affect ALL OF US! Read more about these items and more below.

PBOT tackles Division, safety

To make Outer Southeast Division safer for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, the Portland Bureau of Transportation is planning big changes for Division Street from 82nd Avenue to the city limits including : more sidewalks and lighting, better pedestrian crossings, separated or protected bike lanes, and lower speeds with measures to back that up.

But, the plan may come at a cost: PBOT is planning needed raised median islands along SE Division with u-turns allowed for business and community access, which could hurt auto-reliant businesses along the busy corridor.

Please go to the PBOT open house Thursday, Nov. 9, 5-7 p.m., at PCC's Southeast Campus, Community Room Annex, 8305 SE 82nd Ave.

In the meantime, find out more about the outer Division Multi Modal Safety Project at www.portlandoregon.gov/transportation/74204. Read more.

Love Talks and thanks

Cheers to you both (Liz Feldman of PSU's BOP program and DMA) and the work you do to serve and build community in its truest sense. Bringing people together who are not alike in culture and being of service to help people build networks that share resources and skills.

Your work matters.
